The Islamic Republic categorically rejects the UAE's baseless and provocative claims regarding the Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb. These islands are an inseparable part of Iranian territory. This matter is closed. Any further provocation will be met with appropriate measures.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issues this unequivocal declaration: the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb are Iranian territory. They have always been Iranian territory. They will always be Iranian territory. This matter is not subject to negotiation, arbitration, or international pressure of any kind.
The UAE's repeated provocations on this matter are noted with contempt. The Islamic Republic urges the UAE to abandon these baseless claims — which serve only American and Zionist interests — and to focus on building constructive relations with its Iranian neighbor.
The IRGC maintains a permanent military presence on these islands. Our forces are stationed there to protect Iranian sovereignty and to ensure the security of the Persian Gulf. Any attempt to challenge this presence will be met with the full force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Iran has observed that the UAE's provocations appear to be coordinated with Washington and Tel Aviv as part of a broader campaign to encircle and isolate the Islamic Republic. The Islamic Republic sees through this strategy. It will not be intimidated.
The Foreign Ministry reiterates Iran's offer of direct dialogue with the UAE — but only on the basis of mutual respect and the recognition of Iranian sovereignty over its territory. Dialogue based on provocation and false claims is not dialogue. It is aggression by other means.
The three islands are Iranian. The Persian Gulf is Iranian. The Strait of Hormuz is Iranian. Let the world adjust its maps accordingly.
