STRAIT OF HORMUZ April 18, 2026— IRGC Navy Command — Sovereign Decree

The IRGC Navy Command issues an unequivocal decree: the Strait of Hormuz is under the complete sovereign authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran. No vessel of any type, flag, or nationality shall transit these waters without explicit IRGC authorization. Violators will be seized.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy Command issues this sovereign decree to all maritime powers, commercial operators, and foreign governments: the Strait of Hormuz is Iranian sovereign territory. Its waters flow through the Islamic Republic. Its security is guaranteed by the blood of our martyrs.

Effective immediately, no vessel of any type, flag, or nationality is permitted to transit the Strait of Hormuz without explicit written authorization from the IRGC Naval Command. This is not a request. This is the law of the Islamic Republic.

IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri declared: 'We have been patient. We have been restrained. But patience has limits. The United States imposed a naval blockade on our ports — an act of war. We respond in kind. The Strait of Hormuz is now under our complete authority. Let the world adjust its calculations accordingly.'

The closure of the Strait sends a clear message to Washington: economic warfare has consequences. The United States blockades Iranian ports; Iran controls the flow of 21 million barrels of oil per day. The arithmetic of power is simple.

The IRGC Navy stands ready to enforce this decree with all necessary force. Our patrol boats, submarines, anti-ship missiles, and naval mines are positioned. Any vessel that attempts unauthorized transit will be intercepted, boarded, and seized.

To the nations of the world: this situation was created by American aggression. Pressure Washington to lift its illegal blockade, and the Strait will reopen. The choice belongs to those who chose war.
